Captain FACT Training Course

From May 19-27, 2022, youth workers from seven organizations across Europe (Greece, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, and Romania) participated in the Erasmus+ Training Course “Captain FACT.” This mobility event was held in Sinaia, Romania, and hosted by Asociatia Tineret pentru Dezvoltare Durabila.

The training course focused on enhancing critical thinking and tackling disinformation. Participants engaged in team-building activities and energizers to create a cohesive group dynamic before delving into the course’s core topics.

Throughout the course, participants shared their experiences and built the knowledge necessary to develop their perspectives on these issues. Under the guidance of experienced trainers, the group collaborated to produce a magazine titled “Captain FACT – 6 Articles to Help You Debunk Disinformation.” This magazine, a product of two intensive days of effort, contains insightful articles reflecting the participants’ views on various aspects of disinformation.

Beyond the formal training, participants enjoyed cultural evenings where they learned about each other’s cultures. Participants also discovered the local Romanian culture by exploring the surroundings and visiting nearby cities. They interacted with local residents, enriching their experience and creating lasting memories.

Through “Captain FACT,” we believe to have successfully equipped youth workers with the skills and knowledge to critically evaluate information and combat disinformation, fostering a more informed and discerning youth community across Europe.
